MyBudget Founder and Director Tammy Barton has shared insights with The Australian on the growing pressure essential household costs are placing on Australian families.
The article reveals that several essential expenses have risen by up to twice the pace of overall inflation over the past five years, with gas, electricity, insurance, housing and everyday essentials taking an increasingly large share of household budgets.
Tammy described the past five years as “the toughest stretch for household budgets in a generation”, with middle-income families increasingly finding themselves living week to week as wages struggle to keep pace with rising costs.
