ABC 730 Report Response From MyBudget

Tuesday 10th December 2013

As we are so proud and passionate of the positive difference we make in the community it was disappointing to see a story air on ABC’s 730 Report last night which took aim at the personal budgeting industry.

We believe the segment was an unbalanced attack on our industry and that many of the comments made are inaccurate, especially those directed at MyBudget.

MyBudget is a credible, caring and trusted personal budgeting company, helping more than 30,000 clients since 1999. Our clients’ wellbeing is our greatest concern and customer service excellence is paramount.

We have worked hard to establish this trusted reputation and take this recent media report very seriously, launching a full investigation into the matter.

In the meantime we will continue to assist our thousands of valued clients to achieve their financial goals and continue to reduce financial stress in the community.

We thank you for your continued support of MyBudget.

Best wishes,

Tammy May

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) found the ABC's 730 Report to be in breach of standard 5.3 of the ABC Code of Practice. ACMA concluded that MyBudget was not given a fair opportunity to respond. The ABC's correction, can be found here.
